In order to maintain our ongoing arrangements with the Cosumnes River College officials, it is important to remind you of the following which we have been informed will be enforced by campus security:
 
  • Park only in the designated parking lot (see Fields page for a map),
  • Absolutely no alcoholic beverages can be consumed on campus grounds, and
  • Once the tournament is over on Sunday, all teams/players will need to move any extended postgame celebration off campus.

Tournament Rules


Tournament Format:
The Tournament will include three different divisions as follows:

¨      Original, Government Issue, photo ID with birth date is needed to verify eligibility

¨      Men’s open 18 and over - must be a least 18 by June 7th, 2008.

¨      Men’s recreational 30 and over - must be at least 30 by December 31, 2008

¨      Men’s recreational 40 and over - must be at least 40 by December 31, 2008

 

Player Registration:

¨      Each team may list and register up to twenty (20) players.  Once a player is registered (signed-in) for a team, he may not be released during the tournament.

¨      A player must have a valid, Government Issue, original driver license or photo ID with birth date to register. 

¨      Photo ID must be kept by the player, at the field, at all times.

¨      A player’s name can not be added to the team roster after Saturday.

¨      All players must be listed by the close of registration on Saturday.

¨      A player must register prior to the start of their first game on Sunday

¨      All players will be issued a tournament wristband with their team name affixed.  The wristband must be worn for the duration of the tournament and are NOT transferable.  Players without wristbands will not be allowed to play.

¨      There will be a five dollar ($5.00) replacement fee for lost wristbands, including red or multiple yellow card violations. 

¨      All players shall be allowed to play for only one team during the tournament.

¨      Any attempt to register an ineligible player will result in forfeit of a roster position.

¨      Tournament officials will be conducting random verification of players’ credentials and disciplinary action will be taken against violators.  Disciplinary action may include but is not limited to forfeiting games and expulsion from the tournament.

 

Game Duration:

All games will consist of two twenty-five (25) minutes halves, except for final games which will consist of two thirty (30) minutes halves.

¨      A team will be allowed a five (5) minute grace period before the game is forfeited. Time lost will not be made up.

 

The referee’s decisions are final! No arguing or protesting of calls is allowed.  Although games and decisions can not be protested, comments on games, teams, and referees will be allowed to be added to the game cards by managers for review by the tournament committee.

 

Dispute Resolution:

The Tournament Director will resolve all disputes.  Appeals may be filled with the Appeals Committee.  The decision of any three members of the committee is final.

 

Rules:

FIFA rules will be in effect with the following variations:

¨      Unlimited substitutions will be allowed (Substitutions may take place at any stoppage of play, including corner kicks.)

¨       All players in the Open and the 30-and-over divisions will be allowed to slide tackle.

¨      Only the goalkeeper in the 40-and-over division will be allowed to slide tackle as long as the tackle occurs within the box and it is not dangerous play. 

¨      A player that receives two yellow cards in a single game or a red card will be suspended from participating in the game in process and suspended, at minimum, from the following game. (The player must relinquish the tournament wristband, and will be required to purchase a new wristband.)

¨      Any player receiving two (2) red cards during the tournament shall be suspended from any further tournament play.

¨      The team coach, manager, or captain must provide the name of a player receiving a double yellow or red card ejection to the referee or tournament officials.

¨      The home team (listed first) will change colors if there is a conflict.

 

 

¨      Point System:

¨      During the round robin competition the following point system will be in effect:

¨      Six (6) points for a win, three (3) points for a tie, and zero (o) points for a loss. 

¨      The following additional points also apply:

¨      One (1) point per goal - up to three goals per game, one (1) point for a shut out, deduct two (-2) points per red card violation

 

 

¨      Ties:

¨      Standings for round robin competition will be determined in the order listed.

¨      Head to head if applicable

¨      Greater number of goals scored (up to 4 per game)

¨      Least goals scored against

¨      Red Cards (The fewer the better)

¨      Coin toss

¨      Semifinal, and final games will be elimination.

¨     ¨      If a semifinal game is tied at the end of regulation play, the game will be decided by penalty kicks in accordance with FIFA rules.

 

If a final game is tied at the end of regulation play, two (2) eight (8) minute overtime periods will be played (No Golden Goal).  If the game is still tied at the end of sixteen (16) minutes of overtime, the game will be decided by penalty kicks in accordance with FIFA rules.
